Our client in Elk Grove Village, IL is searching for a Maintenance Electrician with mechanical experience. Our client provides a wide range of products serving the foodservice and food packaging industry.

This position has a day shift (5:45am-6:15pm) and a night shift (5:45PM – 6:15AM) opening. The schedule is on a 12hr rotating shift (36hrs one week Wed, Th, and Sun and 48hrs the next Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat in consistent patterns) with every other weekend off. Possible overtime though very occasional. Competitive pay incentives and benefits.

Position Summary: Perform work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the building structure. You must have good electrical and mechanical experience.

Employees will be expected to have their own set of hand tools. The recruiter will email that list of tools upon request.

Duties:
• Knowledgeable of emergency procedures and what to do in the event of power outages, machine failures, workplace injuries, etc.
• Install and maintains industrial electrical distribution systems involving 120/277 and 277/480 volts.
• Troubleshoots and repairs industrial electrical control systems involving motors, motor controls, relays, etc.
• Will do mechanical repairs to industrial machinery under direction. Review blueprints to understand the wiring to troubleshoot component problems
• Inspect electrical equipment and other components to ensure they remain functional and are up to code
• Determine the reasons for malfunctions of systems or components and create a maintenance/repair plan

Qualifications:
• Trade school or apprenticeship training in Industrial electrical distribution system installation.
• Ability to read electrical control schematics and drawings
• High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)

Required Experience:

• Electrical AND mechanical experience in an industrial manufacturing setting. 
• 2(+) years’ experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
• Good electrical and mechanical experience (preferably in the packing industry)
• Has installed Rigid and EMT conduit up to 2, Lockout Tag out and Electrical Safety
• Maintenance procedures involving electrical motors and motor controls.
• Requires experience and knowledge of the NEC.
• Three-phase and single-phase (120/240/480 volt)
