JOB LISTING: Assembly & Disassembly Mechanical Technician

Our client, Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, is looking to fill an immediate opening for an Assembly & Disassembly Mechanical Technician. This position will be in support of the accelerator upgrade project.  Assembly & Disassembly Mechanical Technicians will be working under the direction of engineers, scientists, and senior technicians that are doing work at multiple degrees of precision (some high precision.) 

 

Worksite location:  Batavia, IL 60510

Estimated Project length:  1 Year.   (Can be extended)

Mandatory one-month probationary period.

Argonne reserves the option (not obligation) to hire you at any point during the project.

All candidates must have a REAL ID to enter the work site.

 

Experience Requirements & Education:

  • Assembly and Disassembly work experience & experience with hand tools
  • Minimum High diploma or GED is required. (Must have documentation)

Required Skills:

  • Ability to read drawings & follow written assembly procedures.
  • Documentation of completed tasks & procedures
  • Can effectively use a PC and use MS Word & Excel for data-entry of completed tasks

Required Physical Ability

  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Perform repetitive lifting of moderate weight
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders for 4(+) hours per day.  
  • Must be able to work with epoxies, solvents, glues and other chemicals.
