UV Chemist is responsible for undertaking customer-initiated and internally generated projects to support the development and commercializing of new products and technologies by optimizing or creating new product offerings for specific market sectors. This role will focus on UV/EB processes within the organization, 8-hour shift Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
• Develops UV coating & adhesive formulations/processes/methods for solution of technical problems.
• Conducts research on manufactured raw materials to improve products and reduce cost.
• Conducts various tests including analytical, formulation, small batch manufacturing,
• Provides technical information to customers to help in the design, qualification, and troubleshooting
of product development.
• Prepares standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products, and tests.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Suite (MS Office) programs and other computer skills
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Also be able to lift and/or move 10 lbs. frequently
