JOB LISTING: Temporary QC Lab Tech for lubricant producer 1st Shift, 3-4 Months, Cicero, IL

Our client, located in Cicero, Illinois has an immediate staffing need for a temporary QC Laboratory Technician assignment working M-F, 7am-3:30pm for 3-4 months. Our client is a specialty processor of industrial grade lubricants. The client is seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s in Chemistry or an Associate’s degree in Chemistry with more experience. Qualified candidates will have experience in testing viscosity of petroleum products. Other testing experience considered valuable includes Methyl Titration, ICP, total acid/base titrations and FTIR.
Responsibilities:
- Performs analysis of raw materials, in-process materials and finished oil and grease products in the main QC Lab.
- Performs analysis of Technical Service Request (TSR) and development samples to support Lubricants Product Technology.
- Records and validates data obtained and calibrates equipment.
- Running analytical equipment such as viscometers, gravity meters, Karl Fisher moisture testing, pour point testers, Flash point testers, etc.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree with Chemistry focus or equivalent education and experience.
- Knowledge of basic laboratory procedures.
- Basic record keeping and computer skills.
- Well-developed mathematical skills.
- Ability to follow safe work practices.
- Experience with lubricants or oil related specialty products is a plus.
