Our client based in Elgin, IL. offers a full complement of waste removal and field services in which they manage environmental concerns for companies on a project basis. They seek a temporary-to-hire field chemist. Candidates close to Elgin, IL are ideal. This position will be reporting to Elgin, IL & then driving to the field site. Living close to Elgin will eliminate extra driving. A majority of their present work load is in the following general areas; city of Chicago, South Aurora/Naperville, IL; north suburban Chicago around Lake Zurich, IL and West to DeKalb, IL.

A qualified candidate for this position would have the following:
• Knowledge of RCRA, DOT, OSHA, IEPA rules and regulations
• Knowledge of chemical families and properties, specifically Dirty Chemical Properties.
• Ability to segregate chemicals, identify unknown chemicals, sample, and package DDD hazardous materials into DOT approved shipping containers for over the road shipment.
• Familiarity with manifesting, labeling, marking, loading and segregating waste containers for
over the road shipment.
• Knowledge of developing shipping paperwork, disposal profiles, land disposal restriction
notifications.

A qualified candidate for this position MUST:
• Have a minimum of an Associates in Environmental Science or Chemistry
• Be able to take and complete a HAZWOPER 40 Hour Online OSHA Training Class prior to start.
• The HAZWOPPER class will be paid for by the client, but you will not be compensation for hours
• to complete the course
• Be able to pass a MANDATORY Physical. The physical will be paid for by the client.
• Be available to work 40 hours a week with a possibility of overtime, weekends, and at times overnight travel which is paid for by the client.
• Must pass a drug test prior to starting work.
