JOB LISTING: Instructional Designer – Hybrid @ Fermilab: Batavia, IL – One Year Project

Our client, Fermi National Lab, is looking for an experienced Instructional Designer. The Instructional Designer will lead an effort to identify, consult, modernize, consolidate a portfolio of web-based courses currently housed in the learning management system. Also, the project entails consolidation and redesign of existing Lectora courses to prepare curriculum for LMS migration to WorkDay Learning. The project requires strong consulting, and instructional design skills.

Project Length: One Year
Estimated 20-35 hours per week. Work hours are based on Project need.
Work site Location: Batavia, IL Hybrid (Percent of office/remote work will be determined by manager)

Candidates will be assessed on the following Three major factors:
Management Approach: Ability to partner with subject matter experts and division leaders to gather content information, determine and implement highly effective web-based learning solutions with planned reviews. Ability to consult with subject matter experts and content owners to identify learning objectives and to recommend learning approaches/solutions to combine and enhance existing web-based curriculum.
Technical Approach: Demonstrate strong knowledge of ISD models, including: ADDIE, SAM, and Agile. Well versed in Adult Learning principles and teaching methods. Proficient with leading content development, tools, and methodologies, including: Articulate 360, Articulate Studio suite, Camtasia, Lectora, or Captivate. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat). Advanced PowerPoint skills. Has access to the above software.
Prior Experience in the Field: Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated experience in Subject Matter Expert consulting, writing, and instructional design, specifically eLearning, and learning and development.

Required Experience & Skills:
Tech-savvy with 7 plus years of experience in designing and delivering web-based training
Strong knowledge of Instructional Systems Design (ISD) models; well versed in Adult Learning principles and teaching methods such as: ADDIE, SAM, Agile
Candidate must have examples of materials they have designed and developed

You must have your own electronic equipment e.g., computer, software (Articulate, Photoshop, etc.)
