Fermilab is looking for a Senior Drafter to join the team for a 1 year project, (temporary to hire assignment). You will work onsite under limited supervision preparing mechanical drawings utilizing NX11 and Teamcenter. Applying the ASME Y14.5-M-1994 (or higher) GD&T standard. The work will be done using Design/Drafting procedures, working to meet project schedules and other requirements. Work will be done to support various Fermilab projects, primarily mu2e and LBNF.

Expectation:

Create and revise CAD drawings and release/revise drawings using Teamcenter’s workflow process. Create basic CAD 3D models based upon specifications defined by project engineers.

Deliverable Format and Quantity:

2D drawings and 3D models are completed in NX11, managed in Teamcenter. Quantity will be directed by Fermilab for each task.

Quality Assurance:

Work shall be performed in accordance with the Quality Assurance Manual (QAM)and PPD/MED/Design & Drafting Procedures.

All work will be reviewed, checked, and approved by Fermilab staff responsible for the specific task.

Candidates will be assessed on the following 4 items:

• 1. Demonstrate acceptable proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and 2D drawing creation via an interview through the ZOOM meeting portal. NX11 is preferred but other CAD software demonstrated competency is acceptable. (In-house training on NX will be provided.)
• 2. Working / basic knowledge of GD&T (Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)
• 3. Minimum of 3 years CAD experience.
• 4. Demonstrated ability to deliver a quality work product on schedule.
