Our client, a well-established business specializing in ink manufacturing, is seeking an R&D Chemist on 1st shift. They are responsible for formulating Flexographic Ink and Gravure Ink products. This requires knowledge of chemicals and a basic Excel skill that summarizes measurement data.
Shift information:
Monday- Friday. Hours: 8am-5pm with occasional overtime.
Responsibilities:
- Research & Development of new products/ formulations
- Improvement to present formulations
- Creation of coatings sample and evaluation of adhesive physical properties
- Working with customers for new product trials and field technical service
- Support & evaluate cost reducing initiatives: utilize new and more efficient raw materials; use up old inventory in batches; formulate with existing raw materials when possible
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or higher
- At least 3 years of chemistry experience
- 1+ year R&D Chemistry lab experience
- Any pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) experience including, polymers, ink, or quality control in adhesive materials
- Understanding formulization of raw materials in a wet chemistry
Preferred Experience:
- Experience formulating Flexo ink and/or Gravure ink
- First-hand familiarity with Flexo ink and/or Gravure ink printing applications
