LISTING: Director of Human Resources

Seeking a Director of Human Resources in Chicago, IL

Chicago based company seeking a Director of HR with a manufacturing background. In this position, you will report to the Vice President-Human Resources and lead a team of HR Business Partners as you implement HR strategy on behalf of the company’s 2,000 exempt and non-exempt U.S. team members. 

 

 Responsibility

  • Ensure business continuity through people-related initiatives that reflect company’s unique culture
  • Lead four HR Business Partners in delivering services to the members of our U.S. teams
  • Develop and lead implementation of best-in-class performance management, conflict resolution, and policy solutions
  • Anticipate the impact of business decisions on the company’s team members and plan for best outcomes
  • Design and execute HR initiatives, policies, and processes to support strategic business goals
  • Investigate and document team member concerns and allegations of potential violations of employment laws
  • Coordinate with outside counsel in defending employment litigation and administrative claims
  • Maintain awareness of changing employment laws, practices, and trends and propose necessary changes to policies and practices as needed
  • Contribute to clear and effective communications for audiences at all levels of the organization
  • Develop relevant metrics and reports

 

To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:

  • Ten years in an HR leadership role involving exempt and non-exempt employees; international experience a plus
  • Graduate level education or equivalent in HR, business, or related field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, emotional intelligence, and work ethic
  • Highly-developed project management skills, including analysis, planning, and organizing
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, and work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience defending employment litigation or administrative proceedings a plus
  • Hands-on experience in writing policies, developing processes, and leading HR initiatives
  • Experience as a strategic HR partner
